Fair play and equal playground for all
ADVOCACY
Many of you must be thinking about what is advocacy and why do we even need it?
Over the last two decades, the recognition of sport as a tool for development has increased rapidly, with an improved public profile and greater credibility. People around the world are advocating for climate change, saving public land, racial injustice, gender inequality, Insurance, infrastructure, government policies etc.
It makes a difference: Despite the increasing amount of evidence proving its benefits, people will often ask, ‘Why sport?’ It can be difficult for government decision-makers or people in our day to day life to understand the value of sport, especially when there is also a need for food, clean water, education or medical services. This lack of understanding is one of the key reasons why advocacy for access to sport is so essential. As advocates, it is our job to help governments/concerned departments, people to understand how sport and play can contribute to development goals, both locally and globally, and gain support for these efforts from individuals everywhere. (Right To Play 2010)
Join our movement of using extreme and gravity sports as a tool for development, peace and equality by knowing the laws, rights, and raising your voice to demand change in your communities.
